A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov held negotiations and meetings with the US officials on 19-21 January 2015.

The Uzbek delegation is paying visit to Washington to participate in the sixth round of Uzbek-US political consultations.

In particular, the Uzbek delegation led a meeting with the Senior Director for South Asia, US National Security Council Peter Laveau.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov will pay a visit to the United States of America on 19-21 January 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

The foreign policy body of Uzbekistan said that the delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov will visit the USA on 19-21 January 2016.

Within the visit, the Uzbek delegation will attend next round of the Uzbek-US political consultations in Washington. The delegation will also hold talks and meetings at the US State Department and other bodies.

The conference was organized by the Public Fund for the Support and Development of Independent Print Media and Information Agencies of Uzbekistan in cooperation with corresponding ministries and other government agencies, UNESCO Office in the country, the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan. The event was attended by members of the Senate and Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis, heads of information services of government bodies, specialists of civil society institutions, representatives of offices of international organizations in the country, experts from Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Estonia, Greece, Finland, as well as mass media.

The Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Peter Burian held meetings at the Legislative Chamber and Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

During the meetings, the sides discussed issues of developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU to ensure rule of law, protection of environment, education and other spheres.

The sides also exchanged opinion on issues of expanding and strengthening cooperation of parliaments of Uzbekistan and the EU, further developing inter-parliamentary relations.

Peter Burian also visited National Human Rights Center of Uzbekistan and Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.

On July 21, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian.

During the conversation, the sides discussed the state and prospects of development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU, the implementation of joint projects in various fields.

The sides exchanged views on enhancing the practical relevance and effectiveness of the EU Strategy for Central Asia, discussed topical international and regional problems.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the EU Delegation in Uzbekistan, Ambassador Yuri Stark, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

On June 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the delegation of the Sejm of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland headed by the Deputy speaker Jerzy Wenderlich.

The meeting discussed priority directions of further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland, particularly at the level of the chambers of the parliaments of the two countries, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.

Jerzy Wenderlich noted the fruitfulness of talks held on the same day in the Legislative chamber and Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The parties at the meeting also considered the issues of interaction of Uzbek deputies with the Polish members of the European Parliament.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Poland Marian Prze?dziecki.
