The future development of Uzbekfilm is being actively discussed in the year of the 90th anniversary of the first film studio of Uzbekistan.

An Uzbekistan Today correspondent found out the details of what the management of the Uzbekkino National Agency thinks in this connection in his talk with Muzaffar Akramov, head of the Agency’s marketing department.

“Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a plan of the further development of national cinematography. However, it provides only a partial vision of its development. Much will be clarified in the process of elaboration of the law “On Cinematography” and introduction of amendments and additions to the Statutes of “Uzbekkino” agency. We will have to work out and adopt the State program on the perfection and raising the efficiency of our activities, as well as modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of “Uzbekkino” National Agency and its affiliates for 2016-2020.”

What are the plans regarding the Uzbekfilm studios, which is going to celebrate its 90th anniversary?

“This unique film studio is the basis of the national film industry; moreover, it boasts solid traditions and history since the national cinematography has been developing along with it. Today, however, like any other organization, it needs reorganization. This has been envisaged in the plan, which is currently under implementation. In the future, the Uzbekfilm studios will have subsidiary companies, which will operate independently. A whole number of issues will have to be solved in the future, including those linked with financing and efficient management of film producing organization and consolidation of their logistical support. At the same time, all directions of the Uzbekfilm studios activities will be retained: production of feature and documentary films as well as cartoons.

What films will we watch in the foreseeable future?

“Along with the classics of national cinematography from the Republican film stock we will see new films. The national cinematographers and animated cartoon artists face the task of shooting films about our contemporaries; fsoter love for Motherland, national and general human values.

Great attention will be assigned to promotion of film art. Efforts will be made towards revival of shut down cinema halls so that each region will have at least one public cinema hall. Our plans envisage the comeback of centers for public lectures for popularization of the art of cinema among the population.”

Modern cinematography is not just about creativity, but also high technologies…

“And our cinematography should master the most advanced film production technologies within the next few years. The major film studios of the country Uzbekfilm plans to actively introduce digital technologies as well as products in the modern HD format. Particular attention shall be attached to modernization of the cartoon film production association - it also has plans to significantly renew its equipment. The Cinema House too is awaiting reconstruction and re-equipment. The Republican cinema fund will be provided with sufficient consumable materials required for ensuring the preservation of several dozen thousands of films.”

During the event it was noted that effective legal system is created in our country, which ensures the rule of law, protection of human rights and interests. The judiciary is increasingly being strengthened as a result of reforms implemented in accordance with the Concept of further deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country which was put forward by the President Islam Karimov.

The development of democracy, the results of reforms and prosperity of society largely depends on the knowledge and skills of the judicial personnel. The significant work to strengthen the legal education is carried out in Uzbekistan. Decree of the Head of Uzbekistan on the organizational measures for further improvement of the activity of the courts of November 30, 2012 and the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan «On measures to further improve the system of judicial training» of June 28, 2013 serve as an important guide in such a work.

The positive results achieved by Uzbekistan in this field are widely recognized by the international community. In our country a comprehensive analysis of national experience, the introduction of international practices and standards to improve the quality of training and retraining of judges are considered as a priority task.

The system of training of highly qualified personnel for the judicial system contributes to the quality of legal activity, guaranteeing full compliance with the law. Further improvement of this work is the introduction of modern information and communication technologies in the activity of courts and application of advanced methods of distance education.

The speakers at the conference also underscored that a single system of training of lawyers in the country, as well as the work on further improvement of legal education and cardinal improvement of the quality of training and retraining of judicial personnel are yielding good results.

Judicial Training Center at the Ministry of Justice plays an important role in retraining and vocational training of judicial personnel. Annually more than 2 thousand specialists of the judicial system improve their knowledge and skills. The Center has specialized classrooms, computer and test rooms, a rich library and resource center on human rights. The attendees of the Center are provided with modern teaching tools, electronic technology.

The close relationship between theory and practice serves for familiarization of students with the analysis of the center of law enforcement, improvement of professionalism of judicial staff.

Close cooperation and active exchange of experience are established between the Judicial Training Center and the U.S. Federal Judicial Center.

Director of the U.S. Federal Judicial Center Jeremy Fogel told about the practice of appointment of judges, the system of preparation and training of judges in the United States. He also paid a special attention to the issues of distance training of judges, widespread use of modern information and communication technologies in educational process. Appreciating the results of judicial reforms implemented in Uzbekistan, he noted that the Judicial Training Center makes a great contribution to the training of highly qualified judicial personnel, which is an important factor in the development and independence of the judiciary in Uzbekistan.

- I am impressed with Uzbekistan's system of training, retraining and vocational training of judicial staff, - J.Fogel has said. - Receiving education and training as a prerequisite to appointment of a judge allows bringing comprehensively developed, experienced specialists in the sphere. This increases the efficiency of the administration of justice, the delivery of judgment on the issues that influence in the life and destiny of man. In Uzbekistan, information and communication technologies are widely introduced into the activities of courts. It reduces the time of consideration of cases, saves time and money of citizens. We would like to continue the active cooperation with Uzbekistan in this issue.

Promotion of best practices in the sphere, further expansion of international cooperation, implementation of information and communication technologies in the legal procedures, as well as organizing the online training courses were also discussed at the International Conference.

Children paraded exquisite designs at a fashion show for little hipsters in Tashkent

A big catwalk for children was opened at the Youth Art Palace in Tashkent. Twenty-two collections of children’s clothes were presented at the “Bolajonlar-Shirintoilar” festival of children’s clothes.

The children’s fashion show is not only a nice and pretty event, but also is fun and truly spectacular. Little models marched along the runway with a serious look, and the youngest participants, who were barely two years of age, confidently kept gait the young trainees to the ‘Calibri’ fashion art bureau school, while designers and teachers proudly watched the children’s enchanting show. At first sight only adults seem to feel nervous. But this is only at first sight…

From its very first year this bright holiday turned into a focal point for counting out the rapid development of a new trend in the national fashion industry. Namely here year after year has taken shape and continues to gain interest and popularity a colorful style of children’s national fashion.

The project also faces no lesser significant task - the festival opens up the names of new modelers and young models; it turns into a unique site for lighting up new stars, formation of creative tandems and even concluding business contacts between creators and producers of children’s clothes.

“The festival promotes the formation of a taste with children, youth and their parents, and aesthetic upbringing, while through national dresses expands their knowledge in the field of culture and art of Uzbekistan, about the specific features of mentality and climatic conditions of the region,” comments chairwoman of designers ‘Osiyo ramzi’ Association Holida Komilova. “Young models of children’s Tantana group, Tomosha theatre studioand trainees of the Calibri fashion art bureau school get very seriously prepared for their performances.”

We would like to remind that the festival is conducted in the format of a three-stage designers’ competition. Along with professional designers taking part in it are students of higher educational institutions, students of colleges and amateur modelers. Semifinal qualifiers and approval of model sketches and materials for collections were held in the first stage in September last year. The organizers reviewed hundreds of works made by 85 designers from all over the country, one collection after another. Early this year the participants presented a ready-made sample of one model for the second round of the competition where they checked the items’ construction, fitness and technology of production. And prior to the big final at the competition’s final round they selected finished collections of dress models solved in a single whole ensemble with necessary accessories and additions. According to results of the third round, 22 collections from 27 designers were admitted to the final. Those were the most beautiful models on the following trends: pr?t-a-porter, national style, smart dress, sport style, and clothes for expecting mothers.

“This is my third time participating in the festival, and I would like to admit that today here, we have more visitors at the Youth Art Palace than ever before,” says Dilnoza Mirsobirova, young model and alumna of the Tomosha theatre studio. “The most memorable thing is always the final show with designers, it’s always exciting to look into the spectators’ eyes who have seen the whole show…”
