Increasing legal culture and awareness are fundamental principles of a fair and prosperous society. In Uzbekistan, the promotion of legal culture and the development of the legal awareness of the population have become important tasks in recent years. The realm of this is seen and proven solely by the arsenal of legal acts adopted over the past years, as well as the colossal reforms carried out by the country's leadership.

Systemic challenges hindering the rule of law and ensuring the stability of justice

In order to ensure true independence, impartiality, openness and transparency in the work of the courts and to improve the efficiency and quality of justice, our country is carrying out large-scale judicial reforms as part of building a New Uzbekistan. The main purpose of this is to ensure in practice the constitutional right of citizens to justice, the reliable protection of their rights and freedoms through the courts and to increase their confidence in justice.
It is known that ensuring the legality and fairness of the administration of justice is directly related to the independent activity of the judiciary and judges. In this regard, the introduction of transparent mechanisms to guarantee the impartiality and unbiasedness of judges, the functioning of the judiciary independently of other branches of power at the legislative level, ensuring the active participation of the judicial community and civil society institutions in this process is considered one of the important tasks.

The concept “the one nation of Uzbekistan,” enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, serves as a legal and spiritual foundation for strengthening the feelings of mutual respect, friendship, and harmony among people of different nationalities and nations, living in the same country in the name of common goals. Besides, article four (4) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan states that Uzbekistan ensures respectful attitude toward languages, customs, and traditions of representatives of all nations and nationalities living on the common land, creates conditions for their development.
