At the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ukraine, the negotiations were held with the general director of a large Ukrainian pharmaceutical company "Lekhim" Mrs. Pechaeva Tatyana.

Holding a leading position in the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine, the Lekhim group of companies is interested in entering the rapidly developing Central Asian market by creating, together with Uzbek partners, an enterprise for the production of pharmaceutical products.

Taking into account the goal of Uzbekistan to modernize the pharmaceutical industry of the republic, facilitate introduction of modern scientific achievements and leading innovative technologies, the joint project for the production of drugs worth over $ 40 million will contribute to the development of modern high-tech pharmaceuticals in Uzbekistan in the form of production and sale of antibiotics of a wide range of actions.

Despite new challenges, the interlocutors agreed to implement the project as soon as possible to provide the region's market with highly effective and affordable medicines.

During the meeting, the parties discussed stages of the project and agreed to ensure the launch of the enterprise in the first half of 2021.

On July 29, 2020, another round of inter-ministerial consultations on inventory and improvement of the legal framework of Uzbek-Ukrainian cooperation took place in the format of a videoconference.

The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was headed by Sergey Koledov, Deputy Director of the Department of International Law, and Ivan Novitsky, Adviser of the Department.

The parties discussed the current state of the existing legal framework and exchanged views on expanding the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.

An agreement was reached to speed up the elaboration of practically significant documents in the trade, economic, agricultural and educational spheres.

In order to intensify interdepartmental political dialogue and interaction on issues of mutual interest, the experts agreed to start developing a periodic program of cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views and experiences on the participation of the two countries in international rule-making, including issues on the progressive development and codification of international law.

On July 27, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ukraine hosted a working meeting of the Rector of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics Valerii Semenets with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Kurmanov and the First Secretary-Consul Bakhodir Ibragimov. During the working meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues related to the expansion of international cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics in the field of education.  “I am pleased with this meeting, today we discussed important educational issues. Our university has extensive experience in international cooperation and I hope that in the near future, thanks to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine, we will launch the research projects with the Republic of Uzbekistan, which will bring Ukrainian science to a higher international level”, said the Rector of NURE.
